Verdict

The most correct motion chain on the site. Measured over 800 ms: both wheels rotate 115° clockwise in place while the road slides 190 px left, so the direction of travel is right; the cranks turn 52° and each pedal counter-rotates 52° to stay level; the near and far feet translate exactly with their pedals (±28 px horizontally, ∓15 px vertically). Clouds, hills and three background birds move at different rates, which makes the parallax read as depth rather than decoration. The pause button takes the scene to zero running animations and zero moving elements. It loses points only on art direction: a conventional flat scene, a wing that ends in a stub at the bar, and an SVG that letterboxes inside a card on wide viewports.

What works

  • Wheel rotation, crank rotation and pedal self-levelling are all driven from one clock; feet stay welded to the pedals.
  • Correct direction of travel: wheels clockwise against a leftward road.
  • Working pause plus a speed slider with a px/s readout, and a three-layer parallax scene.

What breaks

  • The wing reaches the bar but ends in a stub, so the grip reads as approximate.
  • Art direction is safe stock-flat: one pale bird, one teal bike, no scene identity.
  • The animation sits in a fixed 800×640 card that letterboxes on wide viewports.
